Penny Conchie - Divine CareOne could say Penelope Conchie has been in the caring business her entire life. From being awarded a special plaque from her daughters class at school for being the Mother to all and for her care towards the borders. To running a hotel in Warner Beach and feeding and caring for many folks at the Old Age home opposite who couldn’t afford to eat, to schooling many children throughout the years. She also had the hardest of caring jobs and that was to care for her mother,  husband, and father in their homes as they all bravely fought and lost their battle with Cancer.

Penelope has been an incredibly successful businesswoman throughout her life and was the founder and CEO of Style-Life Travel that was started in her home and grew into a hugely successful Corporate Travel Agency. Her business was lauded for its focus on Service excellence to the customer. She sold this business to her Managing Director before she and her beloved husband John went on an adventure to start a business in the United States.

Why a Care Agency? 

Sadly soon after her husband John passed away after a battle with cancer she found herself vulnerable, lost and the perfect target for opportunists and fraudsters to come in and take almost all she had and to cut a long story short when she should have been grieving she found herself in a dire situation where she had to find an income and quickly. A close friend had shared that she had done Care Work in the UK and it was an opportunity for someone of her age to be able to make a significant amount of money and she could control the type and duration of her stay. Being able to get an Ancestral Visa she bravely set off to the United Kingdom and started her journey as a professional Caregiver. She was lucky enough to be sent to the Patricia White Agency who are part of the Saga Healthcare. She completed her training and was placed with her first client Enid. ( The gracious lady in the picture) Providing the best level of caring and going the extra mile, even on the hardest of days, she saw the gift that a caregiver gives to their client every day. The job is not an easy one but it is one that changes lives. After sadly losing Enid and being placed with another family where she cared for the husband and Wife, she gained great experience and respect for this incredible industry.

After 3 years Penelope returned to South Africa to be closer to her daughter and grandson and saw an incredible need for quality Care Agency that provides the best quality care workers that encompass everything that Divine Care and Training is about.  Service excellence, care, kindness, dignity, and support. She also saw that many women were in her situation and needed to earn an income to keep themselves and their families afloat. Penelope has secured an agreement with the Saga Healthcare under their Healthcare umbrella that she could provide the same income-producing opportunities and jobs for caregiving in the UK.

Why Divine Care and Training? 

” That is DIVINE! ”  Penelope is well known to say that phrase almost a few dozen times a day! She was even known overseas among other carers as Divine. Divine Care and Training seemed a perfect name for a Care Agency too!

Allison has been self-employed and an entrepreneur in the Wellness industry for 16 years and has always been passionate about helping people live healthy, long, stronger lives.

 

With a passion for people and business, it was with no hesitation that she jumped at the opportunity to partner with her mother Penelope in a business venture that too would be part of making a difference in the lives of those who face challenges and support for those who love them.
