“It’s not how much you do, But how much LOVE you put into the doing that MATTERS.” – Mother Teresa

DIVINE CARE AND TRAINING, THE SERVICES WE OFFER:
The world we live in today is hardly a hint of how it was a few decades ago! Stress levels are rising and, in most homes, both parents are forced to work full time. Children are over-committed with school work and extra-curricular activities that parents must find time to fit into their already busy schedules.
Trying to keep up with work, children and then also being a caregiver to a parent or parents is an almost impossible task. You may also find yourselves are living overseas, away from your ageing parents and you need help getting the best possible care for them while you are not around.
Medicine is advancing, and people are living longer and on the opposite side of the spectrum, Cancer is an epidemic and stealing the lives of too many loved ones.
Who are our Clients:
• Elderly \ Elderly frail
• Disabled Clients of all ages
• Alzheimer’s Patients
• Dementia Patients
• Follow-on care from Hospital or Step-Down facility
• Post-Partum Day or night nurse for the overwhelmed parent
• Post-Operative Care to help aid in a complication-free recovery
• Holiday Care option
• Pop In/ Companionship
With such a broad range of clients, we have many different care options and packages available to suit their specific needs.
Our nurses and caregivers are all qualified and referenced checked by Divine Care and Training. We also require all our staff to acquire a Police Clearance Certificate before they join our agency. Our services begin with;
• THE ASSESSMENT:
Before a Nurse or caregiver is placed with one of our clients our Highly qualified Care Manager performs a comprehensive assessment that allows us to gain a full health history of our client as well as assess their current conditions and medicinal protocols and to be aware of what equipment may be required to make sure we provide the best care available. The assessment is a once of fee of R490 before the caregiver is placed. Matching the right caregiver with the right client is hugely important to us. Should there ever be an issue we will immediately replace that caregiver with someone more suitable.
• WE ALSO OFFER AN OPTION:
This option allows for a caregiver to pop in and see to the client’s specific needs. Usually bathing, dressing and tidying up and sometimes to cook and to make sure they have eaten and had something to drink.
As some of our caregivers have drivers licenses our client may also require our caregiver to take them the shops or the bank or even out for tea. Companionship and being able to get out of the house are just what our elderly clients need to lift their spirits.
• 12 HR DAY SHIFT:
This shift can be started anytime from 6 am in the morning. It can also be started later should transport be a problem for the caregiver or should it suit the client’s family better. During this shift, our Nurse or caregiver is providing comprehensive care to their client. They bathe, change, make sure medication protocols are being met as well as preparing meals and fluids for their client. All this will be documented in a daily journal. Should our client be bed bound we encourage our staff to read to them, provide some companionship and comfort, play them music, and help to ease the frustration of being bed bound.
Caring for someone with Alzheimer’s and Dementia can be an incredibly scary and overwhelming experience for a loved one. We encourage the family members to provide our nurses/caregivers with photo albums and stories and questions that the caregiver could chat with them about. This reminds them of the life they have lived and their loved ones that are hanging onto every lucid moment that they may have. Let them include baby photos of themselves as well as photographs of their own parents. It helps to keep the puzzle together a remind them they have lived and are wonderfully loved by many.
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

• 12 HR NIGHT SHIFT:
As with the 12hr day shift, the night shift usually starts at 6 pm but this start time can be amended should our clients’ needs be different. They also are required to bath/ bed bath, prepare meals if required and administer medicine should there be a protocol in place. They are to assist with bathroom visits during the night, changing of nappies and see to whatever needs their clients have.
• 24 HR LIVE-IN CARE:
Divine care and Training will place a nurse or caregiver in the client’s home where they will receive 24hr care. They will see to all the need of the client. Often cooking all meals and helping with laundry and cleaning pertains to their client. If their caregiver has a license they are also able to take them on outings, for tea or even a stroll around the garden. We encourage our staff to get to know their clients’ interests and hobbies to make their time productive.
• POST-OPERATIVE CARE:
We have found that medical aids are very reluctant to pay for lengthy hospital stays and often our clients are then forced to leave the hospital a little earlier than their Doctor would like due to the medical aid only covering a limited amount. Divine Care and Training will provide an In-Hospital assessment so that their caregiver is ready to care for them on arrival at their own home. This has reduced the number of infections due to not being able to recover properly as they have commitments and families and life to take care of and don’t listen to doctors’ orders. They then find themselves back in the hospital and back to square one. Orthopaedic, Cardiac, Neuro-Surgeons and even Plastic surgeons have been impressed and grateful to be able to hand their patients over knowing that they will be cared for and recovering as they should.
• POST-PARTUM DAY AND NIGHT NURSES:
This is another growing part of our caregiving business. In this economy most, mothers are working mothers and business owners. Women are also choosing to have babies at a later stage in life and have established careers that don’t afford them too much time off. When it comes to families having multiples this is a service we love to be able to provide. This allows them to be able to work from home during the day knowing their little one is taken care of and in the evenings, they can get some very precious and important hours of sleep. We like to say, Happy mom, happy babies.
• HOLIDAY CARE OPTION:
It is often hard to make plans when you are your loved ones, usually ageing parents’ caregiver. Why not get Divine Care to place a caregiver in your home or theirs to give you peace of mind that they are looked after and you also get and a much-needed breakaway.
With Divine Care and Training, you can tailor make your Caregiving package to suit your needs. We are service orientated, and our Clients’ needs are our main priority.
We make sure our staff represent everything that Divine Care and Training stands for and that is to care for our clients with Kindness, compassion, knowledge, patience and empathy. Keeping our client’s dignity intact always and being readily available via email and phone should any problems or changes arise.
